It's rare that I find a buzzfeed video entertaining, but I do have a soft spot for Ladylike, and my favourite such video is the one where Kristin tries to style crocs fashionably for a week:
I thought I'd try something similar, just to test my fashion abilities. I think I have it a lot easier than Kristin did, because over the past year or so, ugly shoes like dad sneakers have become fashionable - need I mention Balenciaga's $3000 Triple S sneaker?

(By the way, the website I got the triple S picture from is a running/exercise shoe website, and its an article called "15 Reasons NOT To Buy Balenciaga's Triple S sneaker", and their 'pro' and 'con' bullet points are almost endearingly no-nonsense. They actually treat it like a proper sneaker. Please for the love of God go have a look.)
I thought I'd ease myself in by finding tolerable crocs that don't look like a classic croc shoe, and then moving on to the real deal.
(#notspon, by the way, in case that wasn't glaringly obvious)
Part 1: Tolerable Non-Croc Crocs
This has ninja-techwear vibes. It's a pity that it has "CROCS"s plastered over the front, but that could just add a humour element to it. Wear it with an outfit like this:
Or if that's too easy and obvious, I could see someone using it for a noir-ballet vibe, so wearing it with black tights and a strappy black dress like this one I have from UO:
~

I shan't insult you by telling you how to style a chelsea boot. The colours here, though, are really interesting - I'd wear it with a white linen dress/skirt (like this one of mine:
) or white jeans because I think the contrast would be nice, and it would draw attention to the shoes.

Man, they're practically HANDING this to you. Stick some strategic coloured tape on it, and you've got Tommy Hilfiger slides!

These are actually just cool - they're half see-through! I'd wear my fluoro socks underneath, with an all-black outfit on.
~
Mary Janes! Wear them like the 2013 tumblr grunge girl you are, with frilly socks and a borderline schoolgirl outfit or summer dress:

Part 2: Tolerable Croc Crocs
Crocs^TM obviously knows what it's doing here, appealing to the new quirky insta girl market. These are basically a less hyperbolic form of their balenciaga collab. Safiya's video has some good ideas:
The crocs website has some ideas too, making its target demographic with these shoes obvious:
I was thinking something similar: long printed socks (maybe even knee- or thigh-highs? with a relatively neutral outfit to balance it out, like high-waisted light-wash denim shorts and a tank top.
I could also see it going with a lot of Ellie-May's outfits, like this one:

Crocs Kids' Crocband II Sandal Navy Blue
These are both horrifying and fascinating to me - like a mutilated, rubberized ugg. Still, the contrast between the matte-black and the fleece material is quite cool. The most obvious choice to me would be to pair it with any outfit with a black fleece overcoat on top. You know, those hyper-trendy ones that never fail to make me feel affection for whoever's wearing it, most probanly because they remind me of a lil lamb.
I also reckon that the cute fur means it would look really cool with fishnet stockings, because of the attiude contrast. Specifically, fishnet stockings with edgy-but-cozy outfit like Liberty Mai 's:
Crocs PFD Women's Neria Pro Clog White
Crocs Baya Seasonal Graphic Clog Army Green / Camo
These are gleefully childish. (they are, in fact, kids' shoes.) I'd wear them with a primary-colour-based outfit, Lego-esque, to fit this. Maybe mum jeans with a red spaghetti-strap top tucked in. I think they'd also work in any outfit that those checkered vans slip-ons work with, because those, too, have a childish vibe.

These remind me of those rubber shoes barbie dolls would have, and so naturally, these would work great with a barbie-doll fit. So I'm talking any sort of early 2000s look: extremely low-cut denim skirts and crop-tops with a beaded handbag, plastic sunglasses, that sort of thing. My friend and constant inspiration Cosima does GREAT barbie/Bratz 2000s fits, all of which I think these would work with:

Last but not least, you could go barefoot!
